Editorial policy

The “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” adheres to the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), therefore, journal articles starting with issue No. 2 of 2023 are available in open access based on the accepted Creative Commons License:

CC BY 4.0 license.

Users of the website of the “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” do not need to register to read the content.

To reuse the entire article or part of it published in the “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology”, including figures and tables, no special permission is required. For articles published under a Creative Common CC BY 4.0 open access license, any part of the article may be reused without permission, provided the original article is clearly cited.

To use all archival articles or parts of articles, including figures and tables, published in the scientific journal “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology” (former parallel names – Moscow University Anthropology Bulletin; Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta Series XXIII Anthropologiya) special permission is not required, provided that the original article is clearly cited.

Under the Creative Common CC BY 4.0 license, the following is possible:

  • to share (exchange) – to copy and distribute material on any media and in any format;

  • to adapt (create derivative materials) – to modify the material and create something new based on it.

The following conditions are required:

  • “Attribution” – indication of authorship, link to license and changes, if any were made.

  • No additional restrictions – prohibits the creation of new legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from doing something that is permitted by the license.

Publication fees

Submission, review, editing and publication of articles in the journal “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” is free of charge.

“Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” does not charge any article publication fees (APCs).

Placement of advertising materials

The “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” does not work with any types of advertising.

Deposit policy

Since 2023, in accordance with the rules of the open access license (Creative Common CC BY 4.0 license), journal authors have the right to submit the final published version of their article to institutional and/or centralized archives immediately after its publication, provided that the journal and publisher are indicated as of the original, the place of publication and the conditions for correct citation are met. Authors are also encouraged to provide email addresses of published articles along with the PDF version.

Archival policy

The archival policy is aimed at selecting, storing and providing access to the archives of the Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (former parallel names - Moscow University Anthropology Bulletin; Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta Series XXIII Anthropologiya). The archive consists of texts of peer-reviewed articles, annotations and lists of references, which are published in the journal “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)”. These materials are of great scientific value, as they contain the most significant results of scientific research.

The “Lomonosov Journal of Anthropology (Vestnik Moskovskogo Universiteta. Seria XXIII. Antropologia)” uploads full-text archives on the journal's website, the publisher's website, as well as on the platform of the Scientific Electronic Library "eLibrary.ru" and the Scientific Electronic Library "CyberLeninka".

Self-archiving Policy

Authors have the right to post their peer-reviewed work on personal websites and databases, indicating the name and issue of the journal in which the article was published. For these purposes, we recommend using the publisher's PDF version or linking to it.

Anti-plagiarism policy

The journal publishes only original, high-quality scientific papers. Submission of an article to a journal implies that it has not been published previously and has not been submitted for publication to another journal. If the author(s) use excerpts from other articles (in English or other languages) in their work, they must provide credit or obtain permission from the previous publisher or copyright holder.

Articles containing plagiarism are not allowed for publication. If, after checking the article, it is found to contain plagiarism, notices of refusal to publish for the above reason will be sent to the author, the relevant institute and the funding organization (if any).

Claims Policy

Direct contacts are the main and most preferred way to resolve controversial issues between the editors, authors and third parties in the process of reviewing and preparing articles for publication, as well as in relation to already published articles. If you have any complaints or claims, you must report them to the editor-in-chief of the journal in writing to the journal’s official e-mail

The letter must indicate the controversial issue, circumstances, name of the author/or article in respect of which the claims are made. Individuals or organizations submitting complaints to the editorial board of the journal on certain issues must be sure that these complaints will be considered within a reasonable time. When reviewing complaints and disputes, editors will follow the journal's accepted publication ethics.
